Tachypleus Amebocyte Lysate (TAL)

(1) The sample solution is mixed with the reconstituted TAL reagent in a test tube.

(2) Endotoxin (if present) activates Factor C, initiating a cascade that converts proclotting enzyme to clotting enzyme.

(3) The clotting enzyme catalyzes the coagulation of a coagulogen protein in the lysate.

(4) After incubation at 37°C for 60±2 minutes, the formation of a firm, non-flowing gel upon tube inversion indicates a positive result.
