High levels of Aspergillus-specific IgE usually indicate that an individual is allergic to Aspergillus. Aspergillus allergy may cause a range of symptoms, such as persistent cough, wheezing, chest tightness, difficulty breathing and other respiratory symptoms, as well as skin reactions such as itching, redness, swelling, and rash.
It is used for detection of Aspergillus fumigatus m3 allergen-specific IgE antibodies in human sample, mainly for Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA).
