HMPV antigen (if present) binds to the colloidal gold-labeled mouse anti-HMPV antibody in the conjugate pad.

The formed antigen-antibody-gold complex migrates chromatographically along the membrane.

The complex is captured by a second immobilized mouse anti-HMPV antibody at the test line (T), generating a visible red band for a positive result.
